At Escubedo, we are beginning a new stage in the management of our sites in Mexico and Brazil with the appointment of Luca Lucarelli as the new person responsible for these markets.
This transition comes at a very special moment for the company. Until now, this role had been led by Joan Sardà, who has headed the Brazil site since 2008 and the Mexico site since 2013. After all these years of dedication, commitment and contribution to Escubedo’s international growth, Joan is retiring this year.
At Escubedo, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to him for his career, his efforts and his involvement in the development of these two strategic markets. His work has been key to consolidating the company’s presence in Latin America and to building a solid foundation on which to continue growing.
Luca Lucarelli now takes on this challenge with a global outlook, international experience and a clear commitment to working closely with the local teams in Mexico and Brazil. His appointment reinforces Escubedo’s commitment to sustainable growth, aligned with the company’s global strategy and adapted to the reality of each market.
To get to know him a little better, we are sharing the interview he answered for us:
What motivated you to join Escubedo?
In addition to the technology, I was mainly motivated by the people and the CEO’s vision, focused on sustainable growth in the American market, especially between Brazil and Mexico. I found a very attractive combination of growth ambition and a very healthy way of achieving it.
How do you approach the challenge of leading the sites in Mexico and Brazil?
I approach this challenge through cultural understanding and close collaboration with the local teams. Knowing the particularities of each country makes day-to-day management easier and allows us to build more solid plans for the future. My previous experience gives me an advantage in Mexico, but I am also committed to integrating Brazilian culture as a key part of growth, so that we can work towards a common goal.
What is your vision of the role and the impact it can have at Escubedo?
Being part of a global team allows us to broaden our market vision and accelerate the company’s growth. The role of Plant Manager is key, as it acts as a bridge between the global strategy and the reality of the local market. Escubedo is a company with great potential, supported by strong know-how, which will allow it to continue growing and consolidating its position in new markets.
What previous experience or learning do you think will be key in this new stage?
In my previous experience, working within a global structure was essential to driving growth in different markets. The application of quality standards, well-defined processes and clear commercial objectives formed part of both day-to-day operations and long-term planning. I believe that combining this experience with Escubedo’s current foundations will be key to successfully facing this new stage.
With this transition, Escubedo continues to move forward in its international growth process, maintaining its commitment to people, quality and proximity to local markets.
Thank you very much, Joan, for all these years of dedication, and welcome, Luca, to this new stage.
