Escubedo has been awarded the project “Advanced digital tool for calculating the product carbon footprint”, reference 2024/DIH_01/000238, within the framework of the PADIH Programme: Support for small and medium-sized enterprises within the Digital Innovation Hubs support programme, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (DIH_001), in accordance with Order ICT/1296/2022 of 22 December.
This project will enable Escubedo to calculate the carbon footprint of all references manufactured by Escubedo up to Scope 3 according to the GHG Protocol, through an advanced digital tool based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
The solution automates the calculation of the product carbon footprint from the extraction of raw materials to the factory gate (cradle-to-gate), integrating real data on materials, processes, energy, logistics and packaging. The application makes it possible to manage thousands of references in a systematised way, ensuring methodological consistency according to ISO 14040, ISO 14044 and ISO 14067.
It also facilitates the identification of environmental hotspots, the comparison of eco-design scenarios, and the generation of environmental data sheets for customers. In this way, Escubedo strengthens its ability to respond to OEM requirements, anticipate future regulations, and guide its decarbonisation strategy, particularly in relation to Scope 3 of the supply chain.
